It was released theatrically on January 27, 2006. The film was critically panned as critics felt that a sequel was unnecessary. For some time, the film had been placed on IMDB's bottom 100 list. However, it had a strong showing at the box office, earning nearly $140 million. The film was released on DVD on May 9.
